You better believe it. I’ve laboured for hours upon hours. I’ve crunched number after number on my calculator. And I have determined,factually, statistically, once and for all, which ships are the most popular on fanfiction.

How I worked it out:

I thought it would be biased towards newer/less famous fandoms to just quantify this list by pure numbers (Free!! is really popular but it hasn’t been around for long), so instead I worked out a percentage. This percentage is how many stories are written about the particular ship out of all the stories for the whole fandom. Eg. Naruto X Sasuke had 18,000 stories but there are 362,000 Naruto stories so this is actually a small percentage. Popularity here is defined as how many people out of the fandom ship something!

I’ve also worked out how many are rated M of this ship out of all the fanfics so we can see which fandom writes the most smut. I left out fandoms which are purely yaoi like Gravitation because that’s not a ship it’s canon XD I also left out fandoms with less than 1000 stories because there are too many of them and they aren’t as popular!
